The Equipment

Comments: No Comments

There is a lot of equipment that you can use to capture evidence of a spirit or paranormal anomaly, some of the most commonly used are digital voice recorders. Below is a list of some of the equipment we like to use.

The mel meter is a casual piece of equipment for any ghost hunter. This device measures EMF (electro magnetic field) this is something they say ghosts are made up of. It also measures ambient temperature. This is handy to have because a spirit can create a cold spot. This is a good way to prove the chills when there is a cold spot

Digital voice recorders are also very important. As mentioned above, they pick up frequencies we can’t hear with our own ears. Therefore, it is possible to hear a spirit voice on a digital recorder that you might not have heard at the time. This is called EVP (electronic voice phenomenon)

The static pods do exactly what they are called. They detect differences in static charge in the environment. The concept is very simple, if the lights are illuminated, there is a positive static charge, if someone were to walk past them that was negatively charged, the lights would dim or turn off all together and come back on when the negative charge passes

The static night vision cameras help us cover every corner of the location wether we are in the room or not

This is a sony camcorder that is converted to see IR light (night vision) its got a 12 hour battery and an 80 gig hard drive. This is used to document the entire investigation to increase the chances of getting a spirit on video

Also part of the gear is this digital still camera that has night vision capabilities.

The spirit box is a devise that scans through radio frequencies. It works best in basements and secluded areas where you would get the least amount of radio interference. It scans 4 frequencies per second and if you hear a voice carry through more than one or two frequencies, the chances are that a spirit is communicating with you
